Glass Chart Smart Hands

Glass Chart developed a Realtime Location and Notification Infrastructure for deployment in hospitals and clinics. Using low-energy Bluetooth transmitters and smartwatches, Glass Chart’s Smart Beacon Platform enables it to track the location of all staff wearing smartwatches and deliver contextual notifications in realtime.

The launch product for the Smart Beacon Platform was Smart Hands: a hand hygiene adherence game designed to reduce hospital acquired infections, which affects 1M Americans per year, killing 200,000 and costing hospitals over $31B per year in unreimbursed medical expenses.

Alpha First Time User Experience

UX for first time user experience beginning on Android Device and transitioning to Watch App. Apple watch screens in the promotional video were simulated, as Apple Watch 1 had only just been released, and there was no SDK or third party apps yet. Our Beta implementation ended up using wrist-top full Android devices (not Android Watch OS), as first-generation Android Smart Watches did not have the battery capacity required to communicate in realtime with the low-energy bluetooth transmitter network over the course of a full shift.
